Hey there! I’m a super tall, busy wife, mama and photographer living on Jesus and copious amounts of coffee! When I’m not capturing or editing photos of my beautiful clients, you can find me running our 3 kids around or out in the garden!

If you would’ve told me10 years ago I would marry a country boy and move to the middle of nowhere, I would've laughed (and possibly cried a little). But now, I can tell you boldly that God’s plans are way better than our own! I absolutely love where we are and have learned the importance of slowing down and appreciating life.

I graduated from Northwestern College in Orange City, IA with a degree in Graphic Design and a minor in Psychology. "How do these possibly go together?," you might ask. It's simple. I love art, and I love people. Photography is where I get to roll those two loves into one passion!

Some of my favorite things include pour over coffee, working out, basketball, quality time, guacamole + fresh chips, learning about personalities, autumn everything, warm colors, Canon gear and a good playlist (which changes with my mood).

If you’re a chill, positive person who enjoys good conversation + coffee, we should be friends.

fun fact about emily

I’m an Enneagram 2 which means I’m really in tune with others’ needs. I can assess situations well and jump in to help or make others feel comfortable.

 my heart and soul

My photography journey.

I remember capturing “stills” of my siblings and anything around me with my parent’s digital camera when I was little. I’ve had an interest in photography and composition from a very young age!I bought my first “real” camera when I was in college, and haven’t looked back! I’ve been photographing couples, seniors, families and more for over 8 years and weddings for the past 6 and have loved every second of it!

I took a couple photography classes in college, but I learned most of my skillset by trial and error, soaking up all the knowledge from my favorite professional photographers, and just practicing! I keep learning new skills + tips from my involvement with the Professional Photographers of Iowa, online courses, and Youtube believe it or not! To me, it is so important to keep improving so that I can give my clients the best experience possible!
